Here’s what goes on at SDHS meetings:

Past Speakers
Plant Display
Members bring plants and cuttings from home to place on display. All the plants are listed in our monthly newsletter, with full descriptions provided for some selections. We also publish the Plant Forum Compilation CD, with information on over 5,000 plants that have appeared at our meetings from 1994-2003.
Go to the Garden Shop to purchase this CD.
Plant Sales
At most meetings vendors sell unusual and high quality plants or other garden related items. Vendor sales usually take place from 6 to 6:45 p.m., and again during the break after the speaker.
Hot Hort Pics
It’s amazing how much you can learn about a plant in just five minutes! Especially when you’re listening to a local expert who knows the plant well. Immediately before our speakers each month, a knowledgeable staff member from Evergreen Nursery will spend five minutes talking about an exciting and worthwhile plant (or two), and Evergreen Nursery will donate that plant for our Opportunity Drawing. You’ll really appreciate this opportunity to expand your plant knowledge and maybe win a plant to try in your garden.
Opportunity Drawing
Purchase a ticket for $1 and you might win a wonderful plant or other garden-related item. New members get 1 free ticket when they join.
Lending Library
During meetings, members can check out books or videos at no cost from our extensive lending library.
